Acquisition and Program Management

We routinely and increasingly contribute our subject matter expertise (SME) to other APMs, FAMs and Directors. Ridgewood’s Logistics SME and Acquisition SME are now supplied to many APMs across the NAVY via direct support to those respective Directors. New initiatives can present real challenges when introduced to existing, ongoing cultures, especially those whose past successes are recognized and lauded. Ridgewood has helped our clients to overcome some of this resistance by employing a host of best management practices. Process examples include, early demonstration of successful concepts, preparation of clear, high-level briefs and papers to ensure top-level leadership is kept well informed, identification of areas where Executive assistance may be needed, facilitating broad SME review and involvement, maximizing peer involvement early, documentation of incremental progress, and above all – deliberate encouragement of continuous motion forward. Samplings of project-specific achievements that represent significant barriers overcome by Ridgewood follow the aforementioned efforts. Ridgewood developed the first Concept of Operations for preparation, coordination and execution of Secure Video Teleconferencing (SVTC). While a seemingly a fairly simple task, it proved most beneficial to the subsequent efficiency and effectively of SVTC participants. That process, turned over to others for ongoing management, continues very smoothly.
